Shane Beamer has become a fan favorite this offseason as South Carolina fans are as excited as ever to start a new era. Will Muschamp was canned after another lackluster season in 2020, going just 2-8, but the Beamer era shows promise because the coach seems like the right fit and already relates to his players.

South Carolina had one of the worst offenses in the country last year and Luke Doty returns as the projected QB1 and Kevin Harris could be one of the SEC’s top rushers. Other than that, this offense could be an issue all year.

Defensively, things aren’t any better. The Gamecocks were 105th nationally in scoring and total yards allowed. Florida should win this one with ease in a rebuilding year.

Final Score: Florida 45, South Carolina 21 (7-2, 5-2)

Samford finished 4-3 last season and played some of the best teams in the FCS tough. But this isn’t the FCS anymore. Florida is going to be the toughest team they see all year and it’ll be a nice warm-up for the Gators heading into the final stretch.

Honestly, this one won’t be close. Maybe for a quarter, but then the Gators will wake up.

Final Score: Samford 7, Florida 55 (8-2)
