Florida Football: Best, worst, and most likely scenarios for 2021
If you’re Dan Mullen, you have to feel a little disappointed at how 2020 turned out. Florida football started the season 8-1 and everyone started to believe in a playoff run after the Gators took out Georgia to start the month of November.
After that 8-1 start, the Gators choked what should have been an easy win over LSU as a shoe toss quite literally led to the loss. The Tigers were in a down year but went into The Swamp and stole a win from the Gators, 37-34.
Florida then lost to Alabama in the SEC title game and any hope for a playoff berth was shattered. They came back and made the Crimson Tide sweat out a victory but lost by six.
The Gators made a New Year’s Six bowl and Oklahoma awaited but put a major hurting on Florida, 55-20. That means that after that red-hot 8-1 start and potential playoff season was marred by a three-game losing streak to end the year. That 8-4 final record wasn’t quite indicative of how good this team truly was.
And now Florida loses Kyle Trask, Kyle Pitts, and Kadarius Toney. Things aren’t going to get much easier, but Emory Jones has his work cut out for him.
What are the best, worst, and most likely scenarios for the Gators in 2021?
