SEC Football Power Rankings, Week 2: LSU plummets, Georgia shows grit

I’m still not sold on Bo Nix, let me make that clear. However, the Tigers were able to beat Akron pretty handily and as such move up to No. 6 from No. 8. Of course, let’s remember that Akron has won just one game over the last two seasons, but overall it was a good showing for the Tigers on both sides of the ball.

It doesn’t get much harder in Week 2 for Auburn as they face off against Alabama State, but we will still learn more about what the Tigers are able to put together.

Ole Miss doesn’t move from their spot at No. 5 after taking down Louisville on Monday night. They were able to shut out Louisville for an entire half, something that this defense would only have prayed of doing a year ago. However, it isn’t enough just yet to jump the next teams in the rankings.

They face off against Austin Peay in a game that should be another easy win for the Rebels and we will see more of what they have figured out on defense and what Matt Corral and his offense are able to do.
