The season opener for Florida football didn’t go quite as Dan Mullen and the Gators expected, but a win’s a win. Florida ran away with a win over FAU even though it wasn’t the prettiest.

The Gators got a shaky performance from Emory Jones and Anthony Richardson really opened some eyes with his legs, rushing for 160 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. Is there a quarterback controversy? Not quite yet, but there’s reason for Jones to be worried about his job.

Will the Gators answer some of these questions at quarterback against South Florida on Saturday afternoon?

Let’s dive into some bold predictions for the game.

3. Florida rushes for over 300 yards

I think Emory Jones is going to have a much better game against South Florida than he had against FAU but most of the yardage is going to come from the rushing attack.

The run game stole the show in the opener thanks to Anthony Richardson’s unbelievable performance off the bench, rushing for 160 yards and a touchdown on just seven carries. He was followed up by Malik Davis who had 104 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries and Jones added 74 yards on 10 touches. Dameon Pierce had six carries for 31 yards and brand new addition Demarkcus Bowman rushed for 20 yards on four carries.

Florida is going to rush for over 300 yards again, averaging over 350 yards on the ground through the first two games.
