1. Florida records the shutout

Todd Grantham needs to have himself a great game as defensive coordinator for the Gators because, well, it’s been a while.

Florida allowed 353 yards and 14 points in the opener to a mediocre FAU team and that’s not going to cut it when the Gators start seeing SEC teams on the schedule. This is another warmup game for the Gators and a chance to build more momentum before conference play starts.

The Gators are going to dominate on the defensive side of the ball.

If you’re a South Florida fan, you might want to temporarily root for another program outside of the AAC or maybe just be a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan this season because offense is going to be at a premium.

South Florida was shut out in the opener by NC State, 45-0, and this will be the second straight scoreless effort and fans will begin to wonder if the Bulls will ever score.

Grantham and Florida will need this shutout.
