2. Brock Purdy throws for 300 yards

Coming into the season, Brock Purdy was considered one of the best quarterbacks in the country but after Week 1, his stock took a slight hit. But that’s just normal for Iowa State in season openers under Matt Campbell, it seems.

I’m not saying Purdy was bad or even was the reason the offense struggled, but the Cyclones needed him to be more than just an accurate passer in short and intermediate routes.

Purdy finished the game with 199 yards on 21-of-26 completions, throwing no touchdown passes. He needs to find his groove against his rival and I think he’ll do that and feed off the home crowd here, making some big plays and building that stock back up with a 300-yard performance.

The Cyclones need him to play his best game yet to pull off this big win over No. 8 Iowa and he’s going to do everything he can to make sure they have a shot.

Purdy will break the 300-yard mark which will be huge because the run game will be non-existent.
