1. Scoring will be at a premium (hammer the under)

According to WynnBET, the over/under for this game is 46.5 and that’s pretty fair given that this game has only totaled 46 points just twice in the past six meetings. These teams like to play in low-scoring, ugly battles.

This year will be no different.

Iowa scored 34 points in the opener against Indiana but they only had 303 total yards so that’s what you call efficiency and defense leading to offense. Iowa State scored just 16 points against Northern Iowa and finished with 335 total yards. Neither offense really impressed in Week 1.

That’s going to carry over into this one as defense will be the star of the show.

I think this one is going to be tight throughout with some back-and-forth action on the scoreboard and it’ll come down to the final minutes as Brock Purdy throws a big touchdown pass to put Iowa State up for good.

We’re probably going to be looking at a 24-20 final.
