Ground game goes for at least150

Last week, Washington football was terrible running the ball against Montana and the Huskies only averaged 2.4 yards per attempt.

So looking ahead to this week, you might wonder how Washington is going to run the ball better against Michigan?

Well, for starters, the offensive line is going to play better. All five starters were back from last season, even though they didn’t all start last week, and the Huskies averaged 4.5 yards per rushing attempt.

Richard Newton gained 62 yards against Montana and this week, I think he gets between 80-100. Run defense isn’t a strength of Michigan football and the Wolverines allowed more than four yards per attempt to Western Michigan backs last week.

The Wolverines also played a lot of defensive sets with just two D-lineman. That will likely change, but the Huskies will have success running, which will keep them in the game.
