South Carolina drops a spot after nearly losing to East Carolina. They shut out East Illinois to open the Beamer era, but then a struggling offense nearly saw them get knocked off by a team that they had no business losing to.

It likely isn’t going to get much better either as the Gamecocks open SEC play against Georgia which has shown that it has an extremely strong defense.

Sorry South Carolina, but it looks like another bottom-feeder season coming for you.

Volunteers . 11. team. 839. . 1-1. Previous: 8th

The Volunteers fall three spots after their loss to Pitt on Saturday afternoon. Their win over Bowling Green in Week 1 brought them up a few spots, but this was atrocious to watch and when others around them found ways to win, this was just unacceptable.

They get another cupcake, maybe one they can handle, in Tennessee Tech this week. So hopefully we will be talking about a Volunteer win at this point next week.
