1. Wake Forest is a serious ACC contender

I heard the broadcasters on ESPN2 echo this same sentiment in the fourth quarter on Friday night, but Wake Forest might just have its best team under Dave Clawson yet.

And with the ACC being as wide-open as it is this season, the Demon Deacons could very well sneak up on some teams and potentially win the conference. Are we looking at a playoff threat? Probably not, but the Demon Deacons aren’t far off from upsetting the very vulnerable Clemson Tigers who nearly lost to Georgie Tech last weekend.

Left on the schedule for Wake Forest this season are North Carolina, North Carolina State, and Clemson which are all in the toughest stretch near the end of the year.

There’s a very good chance that the Demon Deacons will be 8-0 by the time they meet up with North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Nov. 6.

After a 4-0 start and looking at the remaining schedule, it’s not out of the realm of possibility to call the Demon Deacons a 10-11 win team.
