2. Gerry Bohanon is fun to watch

Gerry Bohanon had another solid game for Baylor and he didn’t need to do a ton through the air to put the Bears in position to win. He was smart with the ball all afternoon long, completing 15-of-20 passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns. He was also second on the team in rushing, totaling 36 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.

While he didn’t have a ton of yards, reaching just 200 total on the day, he was electric. Not many players can make a 200 total yard day feel like a 400-yard day. Bohanon is one of the most exciting players in the Big 12 and Iowa State had a tough time containing him on Saturday.

It’s hard to believe that Bohanon had to wait a few years to start in Waco behind Charlie Brewer who is now without a school after getting benched at Utah and then leaving the program. Bohanon has seized the opportunity and he has 828 passing yards and seven touchdown passes on the year with no interceptions.

If this is how good Bohanon in is his first year as a starter, just imagine how good he’ll be next year with another season in the Dave Aranda system under his belt.
