Coming into this week there were a lot of doubters when it came to Notre Dame football. Look no further than the multiple Sportsbooks who had Wisconsin favored by as much as 6.5 points heading into Saturday. The Irish had three weeks where they won their games, but at the same time how impressive were they overall?

Always have been a true believer in an ugly win is better than taking a heartbreaking loss at the end of the day. Notre Dame sure answered the bell on Saturday as the Irish knocked off the Wisconsin Badgers in front of a jam packed Soldier Field crowd 41-13.

Yes, you read that score correctly 41-13. The game was tied 10-10 midway through the third quarter. Wisconsin got a field goal early in the fourth quarter to take a 13-10 lead and then it was all Notre Dame football from there. The Irish outscored the Badgers 31-0 the rest of way.

That fourth quarter by Notre Dame was one for the ages and will be talked about for years to come in the college football world. Notre Dame improved to 4-0 on the year, but wasn’t the only big news of the day.

Notre Dame now has a new all-time wins leader in leading the Irish football program. Brian Kelly earned his 106 victory as the head coach at Notre Dame to pass legendary coach Knute Rockne. This will be a game that he will never forget as well.

Here are three hot takes after beating Wisconsin on Saturday.
