2. Kyren Williams is due for a breakout game

When a running back hits 1,000 yards as a freshman, expectations are immediately raised. That can sometimes crush a young running back, leading to a sophomore slump. Well, that seems to be the case with Kyren Williams.

The sophomore running back has just 289 yards and three touchdowns on the year, averaging a paltry 3.8 yards per carry and it feels like he’s come close to that breakout (the Purdue game) but hasn’t quite finished the job. He’s only averaged over 5.0 yards per game just once this year, but that’ll change on Saturday night as he sticks it to a slightly above average Virginia Tech run defense.

Williams is due for a breakout game. You don’t rush for 1,000 yards as a freshman out of pure luck. No, you do it because you’re talented. Williams did have a really good offensive line last year, but he’s still the same back.

We’re finally going to see Williams take over and rush for over 100 yards on Saturday, making life easier for Jack Coan and whoever else is at quarterback.
