1. Notre Dame hasn’t folded

Contrary to popular belief, Notre Dame hasn’t given up after a loss to Cincinnati.

The Irish may have been crushed after losing to Cincinnati at home a week ago and they fell to No. 14 in the polls, but they haven’t given up. It can be demoralizing to lose a home game against a fellow top-10 team which could have added to that playoff resume, but the Irish still feel like they have more to prove and if they run the table, anything is possible.

Notre Dame led by just one at halftime after falling behind early and then they trailed by one heading into the fourth quarter and even fell behind by eight after a Virginia Tech score with just under four minutes left, but the Irish didn’t fold.

It would have been easy to just give up when down eight with three minutes left, but Notre Dame pieced together a seven-play, 75-yard drive in 1:29 to tie things up after a two-point conversion.

Notre Dame stopped Virginia Tech on the ensuing possession and got the ball back with a chance to win and they got into field goal position and nailed a 48-yarder.

This team has far from given up after one loss.
