1. Florida’s SEC title and New Year’s Six hopes are crushed

With the loss, Florida is likely out of the New Year’s Six conversation, dropping to 4-3 on the year. For a second straight year, LSU has crushed some postseason aspirations of the Gators and this one may hurt just a little more because the SEC title is probably out of the conversations as well. At least at the end of last year, Florida still played for an SEC title.

Is there a possibility Florida somehow climbs up in the SEC East ranks to top Georgia for the division title for a second year in a row? In some extreme circumstance, sure.

The Bulldogs would need to lose three games from here to the end of the year (borderline impossible) and Florida would have to win out. Plus, the Gators would have to hope Kentucky loses at least a couple more games.

So let’s say Florida does win out and finishes the regular season 9-3, would wins over Georgia, South Carolina, Samford, Missouri, and Florida State be enough to make a New Year’s Six bowl? Probably not.
