SEC Football Power Rankings, Week 8: Florida takes a stumble
By Shelbie Warr
The Volunteers are down one spot after falling to Ole Miss and trashing their own field. They were fined 250K for it and honestly, I’m not sure it’s enough. Either way though, they face off against Alabama this week and I don’t anticipate them coming out with a win as they haven’t in the last fourteen years and this isn’t exactly the best Vols team we have seen in a long time or anything like that.
Florida is down four spots after falling to LSU. They are pretty far removed from that two-point loss to Alabama and it shows. Things are looking bleak as they head down the stretch toward that Georgia matchup. Will they mess around and find a way to knock off the Bulldogs despite struggling through the rest of the season? They are off this week before heading to Jacksonville for that exact game, so we shall see.
The LSU Tigers are up to No. 9 after knocking off Florida in Death Valley. They struggled through the season so far, but for some reason, playing Florida really woke them up. Now, they are looking for a new head coach as they have decided that Ed O will be out at the end of the season. They face off against Ole Miss, who sits at No.12 in the nation. Will they be able to ruin the Rebels’ day like they did the Gators?
