3. Ohio State’s Defense had their Best Game of the Season

The one unit that has been consistently criticized for the Buckeyes this season has been their defense. Oregon ran the ball really well and even Purdue last week seemed to move the ball on Ohio State and some thought the Walker would have a great day running the football. That was not the case, as Ohio State played great on that side of the ball and finally played up to their talent level.

One thing that was noticeably different was how Ohio State seemed to be getting pressure on Michigan State quarterback Peyton Thorne. The pass rush was able to be unleashed after getting up early and Michigan State stood no chance. The thing that helped out Ohio State’s defense was how well the offense played. With the Spartans down so much so early, they had to go away from Walker and the running game.

If Ohio State’s defense can keep this level of play up, no team in the country in going to want to face the Buckeyes.
