Ole Miss football and its fans anxiously wait to find out which bowl game the Rebels will be headed to in 2021. Here’s the latest on what we’re hearing

The Ole Miss football team is headed to its second consecutive bowl game after being absent from bowl season for nearly half a decade.

Currently ranked No. 8 in the College Football Playoff Rankings, it appears the Rebels will finish the season just shy of qualifying for the four-team playoff.

However, Ole Miss still has a chance to do something really special— finish the year with 11 wins, which would be the most wins in a single season in the team’s 116-year history, according to Sports-Reference.

We aren’t sure which bowl game Ole Miss is headed to, but we are starting to get a decent indication. Here are the bowls and opponents we are hearing most for the Rebels.

1. Peach Bowl (vs. Pittsburgh)

The latest bowl projection from CBS Sports has Ole Miss headed to the Peach Bowl over in Atlanta.

Ole Miss fans would love the relatively short (4.5 hours) commute to Atlanta to catch the Rebels playing in one of the nicest stadiums in the country: Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

This would be the first appearance in the Peach Bowl since 2014 when the Rebels lost to TCU 42-3.

A hypothetical matchup against Pittsburgh would be pretty thrilling. Matt Corral versus Kenny Pickett — two of the best quarterbacks in all of college football? Sign me up.
