Florida football looks like one of the more intriguing programs heading into Early Signing Day. Who could the Gators end up with?

The Billy Napier era of Florida football has officially begun in Gainesville.

After leading Louisiana to a successful season, Napier has accepted the job at Florida, replacing Dan Mullen who led the Gators to just a 6-6 season after beginning the year ranked. The Gators actually needed to win the final game over Florida State in order to make the postseason.

Now that Mullen’s time is up and Napier is the guy, there’s a lot to look forward to in Gainesville. He’s a really good coach and we’ll see how he fares as a recruiter.

Wednesday will be a huge day for Napier as he’ll try to sign a few new guys to his 2022 class. Who are they?

A good SEC-contending team usually starts with an elite offensive line and the Gators could use some help up front. If they’re going to keep Anthony Richardson upright next season, they’ll need to add a guy like Julian Armella.

Unfortunately for the Gators, the four-star tackle from Fort Lauderdale appears to be a Florida State lean right now. His final official visit before Early Signing Day was to Florida State so that only helps the Seminoles and he never took an official to Florida. This might be a lost cause, but until the pen touches the paper, he’s still on the table.

Napier needs to make sure Armella knows he’s a priority target but until then, he looks like a Seminole.

Armella is the No. 126 overall recruit and fifth-best interior offensive lineman in the class, per the composite. LSU and Alabama are also in the mix for him.
