Cameron Ward is probably the most sought-after quarterback in the portal right now, and for good reason. If you haven’t heard his name yet, you will soon.

The Incarnate Word quarterback was a freshman during the COVID-19 affected freshman season and he passed for 2,260 yards and 24 touchdowns with four picks and a 60 percent completion rate. He was named the Jerry Rice Award winner which is given to the FCS’ top freshman and he followed that breakout season up with a monster 2021 campaign.

In fact, Ward had 4,648 yards and 47 touchdowns with a 65 percent completion rate. He did see his interception number rise to 10, but he still put up 71 touchdowns and nearly 7,000 passing yards in just two seasons. He’s on the market and has some top FBS programs eyeing him.

Ward would be a huge win for Billy Napier and he’s most definitely aware that he’s on the market so all he needs to do is reach out and gauge interest.

He recently visited Ole Miss so if Napier doesn’t want to face him, he better make a run at him.
