Zach Evans is one of the more intriguing prospects in the transfer portal in the month of December as the former five-star and TCU running back has all the talent in the world.

As a freshman in 2020, he had 415 yards and four touchdowns on 7.7 yards per carry and then 648 yards and five touchdowns on 7.0 yards per touch. Combined through those two seasons, he had almost a combined full-season workload and totaled 1,063 yards and nine touchdowns while averaging 7.3 yards per carry. He’s a star.

Florida has landed some former blue-chip recruits in the transfer portal at running back over the past couple of seasons in Lorenzo Lingard and Demarkcus Bowman, but neither has panned out thus far. Evans has just too much talent and has already proven himself that he’s not going to take a backseat anywhere he decides to go; he’s a premier back.

Evans has shown some interest in Ole Miss and other schools have reached out, but it might serve Billy Napier well to gauge some interest and see if he wants to be Florida’s lead back in 2022.

I think this would be a heck of a fit.
