5 Bold Predictions for Georgia vs Alabama in CFP National Championship
As we get set for Georgia vs Alabama in the CFP National Championship here are five bold predictions for the game we’ve all been waiting for.
The 2021 college football season has one game left and it’s in 2022. But after a long wait, the CFP National Championship game will finally take place Monday in Indianapolis.
And while at times it didn’t look like it would be Georgia football and Alabama, it has a feeling of inevitability. These were the two best college football teams this season and it’s fitting that they will decide the national championship.
For Alabama football, it will be the chance to win yet another CFP National Championship and for Nick Saban to make history again since a win would make the Crimson Tide the first team to ever win the CFP National Championship back-to-back.
Alabama football turned the trick with the BCS national title in 2011 and 2012. It would also be the second time that Saban and the Tide won three titles in five years.
But don’t forget about Georgia football. Kirby Smart’s crew isn’t mincemeat. In fact, the Bulldogs are the favorite according to the odds from WynnBet going into this one and if UGA can do these three things, as we outlined earlier this week, it can walk away as national champs.
And as we look ahead to the CFP Playoff National Championship, here are five bold predictions for Georgia football and Alabama.
It will be a classic
This might not seem like a bold prediction but with the way the last few CFP National Championship games have played out, it kind of is.
Plus, Alabama football just beat Georiga by 17 on a neutral field to win the SEC title. Can that happen again? Absolutely. Will it?
No.
This is going to be a spectacular game. At least competitive throughout. It feels like it will be more low-scoring than the first meeting and I’d be stunned if Georgia got in a big hole early.
This team will be extremely motivated and I expect an effort similar to what we saw against Michigan. Now, will that be enough to beat Alabama?
That remains to be seen. Auburn thought it had Bama beat and Bryce Young pulled a rabbit out of his hat. The Tide did something similar to Georgia in 2017 and in the 2018 SEC title game.
I’m not saying we’ll see a spectacular finish like that, but my sincere bet is that this game won’t be decided until the last two minutes.
