Another top prospect who happens to be committed elsewhere while also being on Marcus Freeman’s big board, Jordan James is open to the idea of playing somewhere other than Georgia.

The Murfreesboro, Tenn., running back has been committed to Georgia since March but he just took a trip to Oregon to see former Bulldog defensive coordinator Dan Lanning’s new program, and both Notre Dame and Florida State are pushing for him.

James is the No. 188 overall recruit in the 2022 class as well as the 16th-best running back, according to the composite.

Notre Dame is clearly in the market for a running back with Kyren Williams departing a year early for the NFL and while the Irish could also hit the portal for a replacement, they probably want to focus on trying to land either James or Andrew Paul in the 2022 class in order to make sure Chris Tyree gets a shot at the lead back.

The Irish are looking good for a couple of these top targets and they should finish with a top-10 class before it’s all said and done.
