Billy Napier is looking to close out the 2022 recruiting class on a high note. Here are Florida football’s top remaining targets.

It’s only been about a month, or so, but Billy Napier has been putting in some serious work as Florida football’s next head coach.

After ending his Louisiana coaching career on a high note, Napier was hired by the Gators to replace Dan Mullen and the hopes are high. The Gators are coming off a nightmare season but Napier is hopeful that he can turn things around quickly.

That will start with finishing off the 2022 class strongly.

Who are the top remaining 2022 National Signing Day targets?

TreVonte’ Citizen is one of the best running backs in the 2022 class and he just so happens to be uncommitted heading into the final stretch before signing day.

The former LSU commit reopened his recruitment when Ed Orgeron and the Tigers parted ways and he recently released a list of his top eight schools, which included Florida. While the Gators do have a real shot here because Billy Napier has a familiarity with Louisiana-based recruits and former Michigan State running backs coach and current Florida tight ends coach William Peagler recruited him while he was still with the Spartans.

Citizen is the type of talent that could produce right away and Florida has had some bad luck with running backs in recent years. He’s ranked the No. 113 overall recruit and ninth-best running back in the 2022 class, per the composite.

Florida will have to fight off programs like Auburn, Michigan State, Miami, and LSU.
