Ohio State Football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2022

Ohio State football did not make the playoff in 2021 but enters next season as one of the favorites to bring home the championship.

In a way, the 2021 season has to be looked at as a disappointment for Ohio State football. This team had the best offense in college football by far. However, defensive issues prevented Ohio State from hitting its ceiling, and the Buckeyes had to settle for a Rose Bowl victory. Despite losing star receivers Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson, this Buckeyes team is going to be loaded in 2022.

Heisman Trophy finalist C.J. Stroud is back to lead the offense and will be surrounded by the best-skill talent in the sport. TreVeyon Henderson is back at running back and he is one of the most explosive in the country. The country got to see the young talent that the Buckeyes have at receiver with Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Marvin Harrison Jr. at receiver.

The Buckeyes are also bringing in one of the top recruiting classes in the country to help their title efforts next season. The biggest offseason move for Ohio State has to be the hiring of Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Jim Knowles. Knowles helped Oklahoma State become one of the best defensive units in the country. Expect for the Buckeyes to become more aggressive on defense and improve the unit from the last season.

Despite losing two games and failing to appear in the Big Ten Championship game last season, the Buckeyes are going to be the early favorite in the Big Ten. Michigan is losing a lot of talent and no other team in the conference has the talent level of Ohio State.
