Nebraska Football: Top 3 remaining targets for 2022 National Signing Day
Scott Frost has been targeting a couple of defensive backs ahead of signing day, but three-star safety Kylon Griffin recently committed to Clemson which removes him from Nebraska’s board.
That leaves the Cornhuskers with Avery Powell as the top target in the secondary and, in my opinion, is the top remaining target ahead of National Signing Day. He took a trip to Lincoln back in June but his recruitment has been relatively quiet since then.
Nebraska is still high up on Powell’s board ahead of signing day along with Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Penn State, and Wisconsin. With such a quiet recruitment, is it possible that he’s going to surprise everyone with his decision on signing day? It seems that way, especially since he doesn’t have a single crystal ball on 247Sports.
Powell is ranked the No. 91 cornerback in the class as well as the 19th-best New Jersey-based recruit, according to the composite. He’s not the biggest cornerback at 5-9 and 170 pounds, but he’s an aggressive potential lockdown corner.
