One of the most exciting young players in college football has to be Jason Marshall Jr. The former five-star cornerback was the crown jewel of Florida’s 2021 class and he played in 12 games for the Gators, recording 23 tackles, two tackles for loss, three pass breakups, and an interception.

Marshall’s true freshman season was solid and he was more so a rotational player instead of a starter, but I could see that changing in 2022.

There’s a reason Marshall was ranked as a top-30 player in the country in the 2021 class and he is going to live up to that potential in extended playing time as a sophomore. Billy Napier is going to utilize the talent on the roster to turn the Gators around quickly and if he gives Marshall a chance at cornerback, he won’t be let down.

I think Marshall has the potential to be the Gators’ next great cornerback and a future first-round NFL draft pick. He had a good first season, but the sky is the limit in year two.
