Miami Football was one of the youngest teams in the country in 2021, which of those young players could have a breakout season in 2022?

Not a lot went right for Miami Football in 2021, but one of the things that did was the emergence of some of Miami’s younger talent.

The Hurricanes insisted on playing older veterans through the first part of the season and that was not a smart decision by the former coaching staff. Once Miami football embraced the youth movement, it paid off in some ways.

With new head coach Mario Cristobal taking over, all of these players are going to be working with a clean slate. The guys that got playing time last season will have to earn their way back on the field this season under a new coaching staff, but that should work in Miami’s favor.

This is a team that has a lot of young talent on the roster and if it can improve from last season, Miami football might be a team to look out for in the ACC this season.

In terms of freshmen, Miami managed to sign a top15 class, which is quite the accomplishment considering where Miami was when Cristobal first took over the program.

However, it is going to be a challenge to see any of the freshmen get a crack at the starting lineup this season. It is worth mentioning though that the position group that could happen at is defensive end. Miami football was abysmal at the position a year ago and signed some talented prospects in this recruiting class.

Here are three candidates to have a breakout season for the Miami Hurricanes in 2022.
