Quarterback

Starter: Bryce Young
Backup: Jalen Milroe

Bryce Young is going to be going for his second Heisman Trophy and his first national championship in 2022. He is the most talented quarterback in the country and was great from the start of last season. This is going to be his last season in Tuscaloosa before going off to the NFL and he is hoping to go down as one of the best college quarterbacks of all time.

The only concern for Young might be that he is throwing to a mostly new receiving corps. The guys replacing John Metchie and Jameson Williams are super talented, but as we saw in the national championship game, there is still some growth to be had there. Young is the best quarterback in college football and is the favorite to go first in the 2023 NFL Draft.

The backup quarterback position is going to be key for Alabama to figure out. If Young were to get injured, nobody on the roster has any experience. Jalen Milroe will probably get the first shot, but don’t be surprised if five-star freshman Ty Simpson pushes Milroe for the backup job.
