NFL Mock Draft 2022: Complete first round Super Bowl weekend edition
There’s a faction of NFL draft junkies that believe Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner is the best cornerback in the 2022 NFL Draft class. I’m not far off from that.
A late bloomer, Gardner wasn’t the highest-ranked recruit out of high school but Cincinnati gave him a shot immediately and he hasn’t disappointed. He’s gotten better every year, capping off his career with 99 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, nine picks, two pick-sixes, and 16 pass breakups.
The Patriots need help in the secondary or a receiver, but I think Gardner is too intriguing to pass up at No. 21.
In one of the most unfortunate and heartbreaking stories from the 2021 season, the Raiders had to part ways with Henry Ruggs III after he caused a fatal car crash. The former Alabama receiver was selected No. 12 overall in 2021 so this was a huge loss for Las Vegas.
They could go right back out and replace him with another talented wide out in USC’s Drake London here. They aren’t the same type of receiver as Ruggs is a smaller, speedier wideout, but London is an athlete at 6-foot-5. He is going to be a star in the league and Derek Carr would love to add another weapon.
