Nebraska football was busy adding talent through the transfer portal this offseason and here are the top five additions for the Huskers.
Everyone knows that this is a make-or-break season for Scott Frost and Nebraska football. The head coach restructured his deal and added a bunch of new offensive assistants.
It’s time to put up or get put onto the unemployment line. That’s just the way it is. But you have to give Frost credit for making drastic changes and with 11 additions from the transfer portal, Nebraska football is looking for a makeover heading into the 2022 season.
The Huskers were close last season. They only won three games but should have won six or seven. Nebraska football found a way to lose games last season and hopefully, some of these additions from the transfer portal will help rectify that.
With that in mind, here’s a look at the five transfer portal additions that will have the biggest impact on Nebraska football next season.
5. Brian Buschini, P
It’s pretty rare that you will see a punter on a list of impact transfers but with how bad the special teams were last season for Nebraska adding Buschini, an All-American punter from the University of Montana was a must.
If Nebraska football could have just punted the ball to the right place against Michigan State, the Huskers would have at least won that game.
Buschini can kick too if it’s needed although Nebraska added a kicker in the transfer portal too. But these were key moves and shouldn’t be overlooked heading into next season. For once, with Buschini, the Huskers can flip the field.
