USC football is loaded with new faces on both sides of the ball. Who are the candidates to have a breakout season in 2022?

If you are a USC football fan, you are going to have to learn about plenty of new faces for the upcoming season. Ever since Lincoln Riley decided to leave Oklahoma for Los Angeles, he has had a tall task of remaking this roster and getting it ready to compete for a Pac-12 Championship in 2022.

While he did not sign the biggest recruiting class, he was able to get some talented players who hope to make an instant impact this season.

On offense, the big headliner is going to be quarterback Caleb Williams, who played for Riley last season at Oklahoma. Williams is one of the most talented players in the country and nearly every team wanted him to transfer to their school. Getting him helps raise USC’s ceiling and floor for the upcoming season.

Williams was not the only transfer to come over. USC raided the portal and got several guys who could be instant impact players. With signing so few high school players for the 2022 class, USC was in a position where they had to rely on transfers to help fill out the depth chart. Some of these guys that have transferred in have already established themselves as contributors at this level, but some are going to have to earn that mantle back.

USC promises to be one of the most intriguing and most-watched teams in 2022. Whether they are true contenders or not could depend on how many of the new faces can make an instant impact.

Here are three way-too-early breakout candidates for USC in 2022.
