Florida Football: Way-too-early 2022 depth chart projection
Florida football is welcoming a new coaching staff and new transfers and recruits in 2022. How will the Gators’ depth chart look in 2022?
Florida football seemed to be heading in a good direction under former head coach Dan Mullen, but things unraveled quickly. Despite being a very good offensive mind and play-caller, Mullen could not recruit at the level needed to beat Georgia or the other top teams in the SEC. He was fired after seemingly losing the locker room and having a disastrous 2021 season.
Enter, Billy Napier. The former Louisiana head coach has been one of the most successful Group of Five coaches in the last few years and has experience coaching under Nick Saban and Dabo Swinney. Napier has brought the same kind of blueprint to Florida to help give them the resources and infrastructure that is needed to win at the highest level in college football.
There is still plenty to prove, especially on the field, but so far so good for Napier in Gainesville.
On the field, there are going to be plenty of questions in 2022. The quarterback position remains unsettled and there are holes all over the roster. Napier did a good job finishing up recruiting with just a couple of months to do so and got some key transfers.
Expectations shouldn’t be too high, but they also should be better than last season. It is all about the future for Florida, no matter the results in 2022.
Here is the way-too-early guess at Florida’s depth chart in 2022.
