Florida football is one of the top programs in the country and it should be scheduling some behemoths in non-conference play.

It’s been a weird past couple of years for Florida football. The Gators narrowly missed the College Football Playoff in 2020, winning the SEC East and making the conference title game before losing to Alabama in a shootout.

Dan Mullen looked like he was going to build on that strong playoff-contending season but the Gators took a massive step back in 2021, and we should have seen it coming. Kyle Trask, Kyle Pitts, and Kadarius Toney all left, among others, for the NFL and the Gators simply didn’t have effective replacements for them.

The quarterback position was a nightmare and it led to a losing season for the Gators following an embarrassing bowl loss to UCF.

Now Billy Napier is in charge and there are some major fixes to make, but the future looks bright.

Speaking of the future, the non-conference schedules for the Gators are filling up quickly. Florida State will be on the schedule every year because of the rivalry, but there are some other fun matchups to keep an eye on such as Utah (2022-23), Miami (2024-25), Texas (2030-31), and Notre Dame (2031-32).

Who else should Florida schedule down the line in order to draw some major interest from college football fans?
