The latest on Arch Manning and Dante Moore as 5-star QBs take key visits
Here’s the latest on key visits for Arch Manning and Dante Moore as the 2023 college football recruiting class is starting to pick up.
It’s already been a busy week for five-star quarterbacks in the 2023 college football recruiting class as Nicholaus Iamaleava announced his commitment to Tennessee earlier this week.
Iamaleava could be a program-changer for the Vols and we talked about that but it’s far from the only news about five-star quarterbacks in the 2023 class.
While Iamaleava and Malachi Nelson are both committed to Tennessee and USC, respectively, making two of the top four signal-callers committed, there are still some elite, five-star options available starting with Arch Manning and Dante Moore.
Of course, Arch Manning is the top-ranked recruit in the 2023 class and every college football program would love to have him as their future quarterback. However, only a select few are in the mix for Manning.
Manning recently visited Georgia and is set to visit Texas this weekend and Alabama later in the spring. Florida and LSU are still in the mix according to Steve Wiltfong of 247 sports. But the Crimson Tide are currently the leader according to the On3 prediction machine and since Alabama won’t take any other quarterback until Manning makes a decision, it’s a wait-and-see approach.
But it’s a good one by Nick Saban. Texas is still heavily in the mix and we’ll see how this visit goes, yet it’s hard not to feel like Alabama has the edge.
Dante Moore to visit Notre Dame football
It’s a huge recruiting stretch for Notre Dame football and the reason for that will be the presence of five-star quarterback Dante Moore early next week.
Moore is the No. 4 quarterback in the 2023 college football recruiting class and is ranked eighth overall. He’s out of Detroit and while Michigan is heavily in the mix, Notre Dame football has emerged as the frontrunner.
The Irish are hosting Moore this weekend for an official visit. He’s been on campus recently to Michigan, a couple of times, but this could move the needle. The Irish, who are the leader according to the 0n3.com prediction machine will certainly try to close this recruitment.
If Notre Dame football is going to win Dante Moore’s commitment, my guess is that it needs to happen sooner rather than later. Michigan knows it has work to do and if Moore sticks to a later timeline, it will give the Wolverines the time they need to catch up and likely pass the Irish.
Michigan was able to rally in recruitments for Will Johnson and Donovan Edwards, two top players from the state of Michigan in 2022 and 2021. Notre Dame was strongly in the mix for Edwards at one time too and if the Irish are going to steal Dante Moore, this weekend will be vital.
