Alabama A&M looks to reload

AAMU Head Coach has some huge shoes to fill during SWAC spring football, with the departure of all-everything QB Aqueel Glass. That may not be the main focus this spring for the Bulldogs, though.

The Alabama A&M defense was, for lack of a better term, a liability last season. AAMU hit the transfer portal hard to rectify that deficiency. The bulldogs signed a total of 38 players on signing day, with a HEAVY emphasis on the defensive side of the ball:

The signee list reads like a who’s who of FBS transfer locations, with C-USA, The Big 10, the SEC, The Big 12, and the ACC all represented. If Alabama A&M looks to change its fortunes for the upcoming season and contend for a SWAC football championship, it’s going to start on the defensive side of the ball.

There’s also a name that should be familiar to Bulldog fans on that list; Defensive End Aleem Glass of St. Louis, Missouri, is the brother of the aforementioned All-American caliber former AAMU QB. Big shoes to fill…Indeed.
