Heading into the 2022 NFL draft, we break down the top five quarterbacks available and also find the perfect homes for them.

We are now just one week away from the 2022 NFL draft and with that in mind, it seems like a perfect time for a final ranking of quarterbacks heading into the annual selection meeting.

Unlike in some recent years, there aren’t a bunch of quarterbacks that are going to go in the first few picks of the 2022 NFL draft and there might not even be one in the top 10.

Yet, as we get closer to the draft, quarterbacks always seem to move up the board. The position is too important, so the value is there if you hit on the pick.

This quarterback class doesn’t have Peyton Manning or Joe Burrow. There is no guaranteed home run. But there are some talented prospects and if they find the right fit in the 2022 NFL draft, there’s a chance they could really excel at the next level.

So, here’s my look at the top five quarterbacks available in the NFL draft, as well as where they might end up on draft night,

1. Malik Willis, Liberty

If I needed a quarterback and had a top-10 pick, I would be very tempted to draft Malik Willis out of Liberty. He’s not a perfect prospect and I have concerns about his accuracy in the NFL, but he’s got a big arm and he’s mobile too.

Willis dazzled scouts during the Liberty pro day with bombs down the field. Yet, others have done that too and it doesn’t necessarily mean anything.

Willis is a risk and truth be told, drafting a quarterback is always risky. But for a team like Seattle which doesn’t have a franchise guy anymore, Willis makes a lot of sense, especially because with Drew Lock in place he won’t have to start right away.

Carolina has also needed a replacement for Cam Newton and Willis makes a lot of sense in that regard too.

Perfect fit: Panthers or Seahawks
