Final transfer portal prediction for 5-star WR Jordan Addison
Here’s our final prediction for five-star transfer portal wide receiver Jordan Addison.
Jordan Addison is down to two teams, USC and Texas, and the Biletnikoff Award winner who is now leaving Pittsburgh for sure will announce his decision soon according to a report from On3.com.
The decision eliminates not only Pitt but Alabama which was also showing interest. It’s not a surprise to see USC football among the top two programs in the running for Addison as the Trojans have been the favorite since Jordan Addison entered the transfer portal.
Of course, news came out about USC reportedly trying to lure Addison into the transfer portal with the promise of a big-money NIL deal, which caused Panthers head coach Pat Narduzzi to phone Lincoln Riley to voice his displeasure.
Still, Addison wound up in the transfer portal, but USC wasn’t the only program interested and the Texas Longhorns have also made an aggressive push. Addison visited Texas before he took his visit to USC and spent time with quarterback Quinn Ewers, as well as running back Bijan Robinson and wide receiver Xavier Worthy.
Just imagine all four of those guys playing in the same offense? Steve Sarkisian has been trying to make it a reality, but will it come true?
Jordan Addison: USC or Texas?
When Jordan Addison first hit the transfer portal, we ranked the top-five contenders for him and the Trojans were at the top of that list. Texas was fourth and while the Longhorns have made an impressive run at the five-star wideout, it feels like it will fall short.
Not only do the Trojans have Lincoln Riley, who is also known as an offensive guru just like Sark, but Caleb Williams is from the DC area just like Addison, so it’s not a shock if the two end up playing together. The On3 prediction machine also is trending in that direction giving the Trojans a 96-percent chance compared to four percent for Texas.
The Trojans are also building what should be a really good offense for 2022. Williams was the No. 1 overall QB in the 2021 class and stood out for Oklahoma last season.
USC has added a 1,000-yard rusher in Travis Dye from Oregon, plus transfer portal wideouts Mario Williams (Oklahoma) and Brenden Rice (Colorado). Not to mention some talented incoming freshmen such as running back Raleek Brown and top-100 receiver C.J. Williams.
The addition of Jordan Addison, who caught 100 passes last season for 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns, should help make this the best offense in the Pac-12 conference and one of the best in all of college football.
