Honorable Mention

It was tough to narrow this list down to just five coaches because there are so many more who can be considered true villains. Here’s the best of the rest.

Jimbo Fisher, Texas A&M

I’ll be honest, Jimbo Fisher has been on my list of villains for a while, but his recent back-and-forth with Nick Saban nearly made me take him off. He stood up to arguably the best coach in college football history and his former boss and that’s honestly pretty cool. But ask any Florida State fan what they think of Fisher and they probably won’t have many nice things to say after his ugly departure.

Dabo Swinney, Clemson

Outside of giving off some serious preacher vibes, I think Dabo Swinney is a little shadier than people truly realize. There are always going to be rumors about his recruiting efforts, but he has gone from “dang this dude is down to earth” to “he’s disconnected from reality” way too quickly. He’s been on the wrong side of some debates around college football lately.

Bryan Harsin, Auburn

I felt obligated to include Bryan Harsin on this list in honorable mention form because, well, his off-field issues are well-documented. An affair nearly cost him his job last year and he is probably sitting on the hottest seat in college football heading into the season. Heck, I’m fairly certain he’s a villain in the Auburn fanbase.
