Florida football is among the top contenders for five-star QB Jaden Rashada and the Gators appear to be making a move in his recruitment.

Not long ago, five-star quarterback Jaden Rashada announced that he would be committing on June 18. Since then, teams have been making their push for the talented passer out of California and Florida football is one of the programs making the biggest move.

The Gators hosted Rashada unofficially this week and according to a report from On3.com’s Corey Bender, Rashada is going to take an official visit to Florida Football June 7-9.

That’s huge for the Gators who have been trying to get into the mix with a top-flight QB in the 2023 class but haven’t been able to get traction with guys like Dante Moore or Arch Manning.

Things are shifting with Jaden Rashada though. When he released his top final seven, we predicted that Florida football was going to make a move and suddenly, the Gators are the leader in Rashada’s recruitment according to the On3.com prediction machine.

Oregon was a strong leader just over a week ago and had a better than a 50-percent shot to win his commitment. Now Florida football is the leader at 26 percent, with Oregon in second at 22 percent and Texas A&M in third, followed by Miami.

As I outlined then, those are the four true contenders for Jaden Rashada and that’s come to fruition.

What’s next for Florida Football, Jaden Rashada?

Before Rashada visits Florida next weekend, he’s going to take an official visit to Texas A&M and that’s going to be critical. The Aggies are pushing for him and Dante Moore, but NIL seems to be a big factor with Rashada and that’s where A&M can potentially make some headway.

Justin Hopkins of ScoopDuckInsider noted that he doesn’t believe the Ducks will win out if it “turns into a bidding war” which is probably what A&M, Miami, and Florida are hoping.

Jimbo Fisher and A&M can sell a lot including a program that feels like it’s on the cusp of reaching the realm of the college football elites. Miami and Florida are building but have exciting young coaches and are also selling that opportunity to rebuild to Rashada.

And to be fair, if you are talking about NIL, the QB that resurrects Florida/Miami will certainly be able to cash in with both of those sleeping giants.

The other factor to consider is four-star quarterback Avery Johnson. Oregon is supposed to host him for an official visit the same weekend that Rashada commits. So if that visit happens, it will be a strong indicator that Rashada isn’t going to be a Duck.

Then, it will be down to A&M, Miami, and Floria and frankly, between those three schools, it’s a toss-up. So if I’m a Florida football fan, I’m feeling pretty good about the Gators’ chances to pull off a recruiting win with Jaden Rashada.
