Florida Football: Post-spring 2022 game-by-game predictions
Brian Kelly has taken over for Ed Oregon in Baton Rouge and while the pairing seems weird, he knows how to win and will do plenty of that with LSU.
Will that happen right away, though? The jury’s still out on that one.
Kelly does bring in Jayden Daniels to fight for the starting quarterback job with Myles Brennan and I think he’ll win it due to his experience and dual-threat capabilities. That’s going to give Florida’s defense some fits, but Anthony Richardson will put on an all-time performance here.
Prediction: LSU 24, Florida 31 (5-2, 3-1)
This is the true litmus test for the Gators. If they can hang with and beat the reigning national champs, they can beat anyone. The annual rivalry game in Jacksonville may not be as hyped as it has been in the past, but a close game here will have The World’s Largest Cocktail Party back on the map.
I think Florida hangs here and keeps it respectable, but the Georgia defense will just be too suffocating.
Prediction: Florida 17, Georgia 27 (5-3, 3-2)
