2. Uncertainty at quarterback

Just like last season, Texas A&M enters 2022 with uncertainty at the quarterback position.

Haynes King was injured early last season, giving way to Zach Calzada who wasn’t terrible but he also wasn’t the quarterback to get the Aggies to that next level. Jimbo Fisher added some insurance to the quarterback room this year in the form of LSU transfer Max Johnson.

Although the quarterback room is much better this season with Johnson, a (hopefully) healthy King, and five-star incoming freshman Conner Weigman, Texas A&M still doesn’t know who the starter will be and that’s slightly concerning.

King has spent the offseason rehabbing his injury and Johnson is just getting adjusted to Texas A&M along with Weigman. Whoever gets the start will have earned the job, but not knowing heading into August will be a concern for just about everyone.
