I’m actually a big believer that South Carolina will be a surprise team in the SEC this season with Shane Beamer becoming one of the best young coaches in college football. Oh, and he landed former Heisman contender and Oklahoma transfer Spencer Rattler.

The Gamecocks return 14 starters on a team that finished 7-6 last year with a Duke’s Mayo Bowl win and they were a couple of plays away from going 9-4. The Gamecocks will only improve this season with much better quarterback play thanks to Rattler and the receiving corps returns its top-three pass-catchers from 2021.

Brian Kelly will rejuvenate the LSU football program and he’ll have a talented team at his disposal to contend in year one, but the Tigers are just No. 5 on this list because this game will be played in Fayetteville. This is a game that I believe Arkansas should — and will — win.

Jayden Daniels transfers in from Arizona State and could elevate that offense with Kayshon Boutte and the defense should rebound from a tough year in 2021. The Tigers are going to be a tough out and they’ll give Arkansas all it can handle in mid-November.
