Florida Football: Top 3 breakout candidates for 2022
I’m going to come out and say it: I’m engineering the Anthony Richardson hype train. I truly believe the sophomore quarterback is going to become a star in 2022, as long as he can stay healthy.
Richardson dealt with a nagging hamstring injury which really affected his ability to run which is one of his strengths. He still finished with 401 yards and three touchdowns on 7.9 yards per carry, but that number would have been much higher if he wasn’t dealing with a leg injury.
Backing up Emory Jones for most of the season, Richardson saw limited action and threw for 529 yards and six touchdowns with five picks. He could afford to work on his decision-making and accuracy, but he has a rocket of an arm and has made some seriously eye-popping throws.
Like this one:
Richardson is just what this offense needed and you’re going to see probably the most effective and efficient Florida attack in years thanks to his dual-threat ability and the weapons he has around him.
