A couple of years ago, Alante Brown was the No. 1 prep school player in the country (not sure how many there were, but he was clearly considered one of the better non-high school prospects).

Fast forward two years and he has just six catches for 71 yards. It just feels like he’s ready to burst onto the scene in 2022 after he was buried on the depth chart over the past two seasons. He’s been quiet and the Cornhuskers didn’t really need him last year with Samori Toure and Austin Allen leading the way with Omar Manning right up there as the No. 3 target. Two of those guys are gone and now Brown can come in and pave the way for some serious playing time.

Projected as a starter, Brown is likely going to be a speedy slot type who can catch a short slant and take it to the house. He has the potential to be a special receiver in this offense.

I could see him stepping up and having a huge 600-plus yard season with 30-40 catches after a quiet start to his career and he could be that No. 2 target behind Manning.
