5 college football teams that could surprisingly go undefeated in 2022
All offseason long, I’ve been questioning the NC State hype. Even now, I’m not sure if I completely believe in the Wolfpack, but after taking a look at the schedule and seeing what Devin Leary did a year ago, there’s a legit chance that they could go unbeaten during the regular season.
Plus, the ACC is just not elite even if fans of the conference tell you it is. Pitt won the league a year ago over Wake Forest and turned around and lost in the Peach Bowl to the Big Ten East’s third-place team (obviously MSU was solid, but this goes to show the difference in ACC vs. Big Ten).
Each year, there’s an ACC team not named Clemson that pushes for a perfect season and I think this year it’s going to be the Wolfpack.
With the nation’s No. 21 defense from a year ago returning 10 starters and the offense bringing back seven, led by Leary, I wouldn’t be shocked to see this team go undefeated before the ACC title game. Their toughest game is on Oct. 1 at Clemson and if they can get past that one unscathed, they should cruise to a 12-0 finish.
