4. Brian Kelly already feels like a terrible fit for LSU

Through one game, I’m not completely sold on Brian Kelly being the guy for LSU.

When he was hired away from Notre Dame before the end of last season, I felt like it was kind of a weird fit and when he showed off a cringey, fake southern accent during his introduction at an LSU basketball game, it felt like an even weirder (worse) fit.

And now, after one game, I almost feel vindicated.

Yes, this is a piping-hot take since it’s only been one game, but who can really disagree right now? The Tigers lost their opener to a very average Florida State team and made Jordan Travis look like a Heisman candidate. The Tigers’ defense was really, really pedestrian and the offense was even worse. It just felt like an anti-LSU team.

Kelly might be a really good coach and he’s had success everywhere else he’s been, but there are such things as good fits and bad fits and LSU feels like the latter for him.
