Alabama Football: 3 Takeaways from heart-stopping win vs. Texas
By Shelbie Warr
1. Bryce Young’s confidence and poise won the Tide this game.
While the defense had penalty after penalty and the offense kept dropping balls, Bryce Young looked poised through it all. He didn’t doubt his team for a minute and that was shown on his face and in his game. He made sure that he put this team in a position to win and he did just that. The defending Heisman winner was what his team needed, even though his defense did the opposite.
Can Young keep this up and be the best player in college football again this year? I think he can, but it depends on what he does down that stretch of Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Tennessee- all of which are chomping at the bit after watching what was considered a mess of a day for the Alabama Crimson Tide, at least in the mind of Nick Saban.
Look for Young to have another Heisman moment in one of those three games, maybe more, because I am still convinced he is among the top five quarterbacks in the game right now.
