Week 4 of college football is here and we have picks and predictions for the best games this week: Tennessee vs Florida, Arkansas vs Texas A&M, Wake Forest vs Clemson, and many more.

We are officially entering the second quarter of a jam-packed college football season, which means it’s time to start seeing some meaningful conference games and long-standing rivalry games.

I went 8-5 on my picks last week, bringing me to 20-14 overall this college football season.

Let’s go ahead and dive into this week’s picks, which start with the best Thursday night game and the best Friday night college football games of Week 4.

Coastal Carolina at Georgia State (Thursday, Sept. 22 at 7:30 PM on ESPN2)

Prediction: This Sun Belt Conference matchup is the best of a three-game Thursday night college football slate. A lot of folks will tune in to West Virginia and Virginia Tech, but this game holds a lot more entertainment value.

The Panthers upset Coastal Carolina last season while QB Grayson McCall was sidelined with an injury, winning by just two points. In the 2020 meeting between these two teams, McCall lit up Georgia State for five total touchdowns, winning 51-0. The Chants have struggled a bit this season with their defense and playing down to their opponent, but they’re one of the few remaining Group of 5 teams who are undefeated. Coastal gets a big weekday win on the road.

Pick: Coastal Carolina -2.5

Virginia at Syracuse (Friday, Sept. 23 at 7:00 PM on ESPN)

Prediction: This ACC matchup has the ingredients for an exciting game, but Virginia is just not a good football team. They nearly got upset by Old Dominion just a couple of weeks ago and QB Brennan Armstrong has more interceptions than touchdowns so far this season. The Cavaliers are also giving up more points per game (18.3) than they are scoring themselves (17.7)— not a winning combination. Syracuse has a ton of weapons on offense, they’re playing at home and they’re going to cover against UVA.

Pick: Syracuse -10.5
