6. Alabama Crimson Tide (7-1)

Where will Alabama be in the initial rankings after losing at Tennessee by one point a couple of weeks ago? It’s tough to say, but No. 6 just makes sense for this team. There’s going to be plenty of debate about whether a team like TCU deserves this spot, but Alabama is more talented than the Horned Frogs.

Until the Tide lose another game, they’re going to be one of those first teams out which could jump into that top four with a loss by any of the top-five teams.

Bryce Young is playing at a Heisman-caliber level and the Tide are looking to get back on track after a bye in Week 9. They did dominate a ranked Mississippi State team lats week, showing that they’re not going to crumble after losing to the Volunteers for the first time under Nick Saban.

I could see Alabama being anywhere from No. 5 to No. 7 in the first rankings, so I’m going right down the middle of that.
